Caryl S. Callicott, 83, died Thursday, Sept. 6, at North Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at North Ridge Apartments, 5500 Boone Ave. N., New Hope, Minn.

Caryl Susan Armstrong was born Aug. 19, 1924, in Minneapolis, to Clarence and Gertrude Armstrong. She married Stan Callicott Feb. 27, 1944, in LaCrosse, Wis.

She enjoyed helping Stan with their Hallmark stores, was very active in the Hubbard United Methodist Church and was a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies included fishing, sewing and doing all types of crafts.

Although she lived in several cities throughout their almost 65 years of marriage, their major homes have been in LaCrosse, Wis., Fort Dodge and, most recently, Park Rapids, Minn. In 2004, they moved to North Ridge Apartments in Minneapolis.

She is survived by her husband, Stan; one brother, Robert Armstrong, of New Hope, Minn.; daughter, Caryl, and husband Don Jotzke, of Des Moines; daughter, Nancy Haack, of Omaha, Neb.; daughter, Judy, and husband Bruce Vance, of Ames; son, Dave, and wife Loree Callicott, of Buffalo, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Art Armstrong and Dick Armstrong; and one daughter, Barbara Callicott.
