Carol Ann Hickman, 52, of Roland died May 31, 2006 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. An informal memorial gathering was held on Sunday, June 4, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story-City.

Carol Ann Hickman was born Dec. 10, 1953 in Des Moines to Robert G: and Susan (Seem) Lowe. She married Charles Hickman on June 26, 1971. She moved to Roland in 1984.

She was a department manager at Wal-Mart in Ames. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing, watching birds and she loved animals.

Carol is survived by her husband Charles of Roland; three sons, Charles of Story City, Robert (Dawn) of Des Moines, and Nick of Ames; a daughter Angela Hickman of Roland; her moth er, Susan Spalding of Des Moines; a brother, Robert Lowe of Des Moines; two sisters, Kathie Lowe of De Moines and Linda Kern of Ankeny; and a granddaughter, Shelby Hickman.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lowe and stepfather George Spalding.
