Mary Jo (Fosse) Thorn, 37, of Ankeny, died Saturday, July 21, at her home. Funeral services will be at 1 pm. Wednesday, July 25, at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland, with Rev. Joelle Colville-Hanson officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Roland Cemetery.

Mary Jo (Fosse) Thorn was born Jan. 28, 1970, at the Story City Memorial Hospital, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Beck) Fosse. She was baptized Aug. 20, 1982, and confirmed April 21, 1985, at the Salem Lutheran Church in Roland. She graduated from Des Moines Area Community College in accounting in 1995. She married Chuck Thorn May 2, 1998, at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland.

She worked for the Arag Group in Des Moines as an Accounting Specialist. Her interests included spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Chuck, of Roland; one brother, Todd Fosse, of Roland; three aunts, Marlene (Ron) Piel, of Creston, Virginia Clarahan, of Bloomington, Ill., and Lillian (Louis) Winslow, of Belle Plain; and four uncles, Ron (Betty) Fosse, of Ames, Don (Ruth) Beck, of Hedrick, Jim (Jacque) Beck, of Iowa City, and Bob (Mary) Beck, of Fayetteville, Tenn.

Her parents preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Salem Lutheran Church in Roland.

Soderstrum Funeral Home in Roland is in charge of the arrangements.
