TRI COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, June 21, 2007.

Odellia (Newgaard) Lantz, 85, passed away at her home June 15, 2007, in Huxley, Iowa. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley. Burial will take place at Cambridge Municipal Cemetery in Cambridge.

Odellia was born July 8, 1921, in Story County, Washington Township, to August and Pauline (Ostrem) Newgaard. She was united in marriage to Alvin Lantz on September 14, 1940.

Surviving are three sons, Monte (Gloria) of Huxley, Gary of Ames and Nero (Linda) of St. Regis, Montana; daughter-in-law, Sandy Lantz of Renton, Washington; one sister, Evelyn Weichers of Greenbank, Washington; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Alvin; one son, Alan; two brothers; and three sisters.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater. Memorials may be given to VFW Auxiliary Post 9662 of Ankeny and American Legion Auxiliary Post 233 of Cambridge of which she was a member.
