Ervin Miller, 79, of Kelley, died Monday, June 18, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kelley, with the Rev. Bernard Daiker officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Ervin Miller was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Ames, to Albert and Cora T. (Erickson) Miller. He married Helen Carroll June 12, 1949. He was a farmer, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and served on the church council. He also served as president of the Ballard School Board and worked with Boone County ASC office and compliance director for 13 counties for many years. His joy was going to activities involving his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Miller, of rural Kelley; four daughters, Jackie (Gary) Fjelland, of Alleman, Deb (Ron) Bollmeyer, of Gilmore City, Janet (Marty) Eslick, of Fort Dodge, and Kris (Drew) Polich, of Sheldahl; nine grandchildren, Ben (Stacy) Fjelland, Andy (Lindsay) Fjelland, Matt Fjelland, Nick Fjelland, Alex Bollmeyer, Mitch Eslick, Ryan Polich, Kennedy Bollmeyer and Molly Eslick.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Bethany Lutheran Church.
Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater is in charge of arrangements.
