Geraldine E. (Jordan) Petefish, 79, of Ames, died Saturday, May 12, at Riverside Manor in Ames. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Burial will be in Story Memorial Gardens in Ames.

Geraldine E. (Jordan) Petefish was born April 10, 1928, in Des Moines, to Alfred and Mary Jordan. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines in 1946. She completed an associate degree from Open Bible College in Des Moines. She worked at the Iowa Des Moines National Bank until she married Raymond Petefish Oct. 9, 1949, in Des Moines. They moved to Colo, where they farmed for 35 years. In 1980, they moved to Ames. She was employed by Wal-Mart for 10 years, retiring in the early 1990s.

She loved church music and sang professionally. She was a Girl Scout leader and a member of women's missionary groups. She also was a skilled seamstress.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Petefish, of Ames; four daughters, Sandy (Stan) Cooper, of San Ramon, Calif., Sally (Philip) Clausen, of Roland, Peggy (Russ) Fulton, of Ames, and Christine Campbell, of Des Moines; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.
