NEVADA JOURNAL, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, May 10, 2007.

Marjorie Ricketts, 73, of Ames, died May 3, 2007 at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Services were held Monday, May 7, at Bethesda Lutheran Church with Pastor Randy Gehring officiating.

Marjorie was born Sept. 8, 1933 in Ottawa, IL, to Lloyd and Elsie (Eike) Larson. She was a graduate of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. She was a school teacher until she married Charlie Ricketts in Serena, Illinois on Aug. 12, 1956, and then she became a homemaker. She had been living in Ames since 1971. She was very active in Bethesda Lutheran Church, was chairman of Scandinavian Coffee, President of Women's Group, belonged to PEO, was President of Reiman Gardens Cohort, belonged to the Church circle, and volunteered at the Hospitality Shop in Mary Greeley for 20 years. She enjoyed flowers, painting, landscaping and especially decorating.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie Ricketts; a son, Steven (Linda) Ricketts of North Andover, MA; a daughter, Beth (Mark) Dean of Eagan, MN.; six grandchildren: Aaron, Scott, and Jason Ricketts and Ryan, Megan and Jennifer Dean; and two sisters, Fran Dorsey and Eleanor Finley; and one brother, Lowell Larson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Susan.

Memorials may be made to Reiman Gardens. Adams Funeral Home, Ames, handled arrangements.
