Mary Lee McMullen, 60, of rural State Center, died Sunday, April 15, at home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. Burial will be in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Mary Lee McMullen was born Nov. 20, 1946, in Iowa Falls, to Elmer C. and Gertrude P. (Neuendorf) Buckholtz. She married Sammy McMullen Sept. 10, 1962, in Nevada. She was employed as a cook at several health care centers. She enjoyed being with her family and raising Arabian horses and bulldogs.

She is survived by her husband, Sammy McMullen, of State Center; three sons, David Lynn McMullen, of Sioux Falls, S.D., Slade Dawson Lynn McMullen, of Fort Dodge, and Curtis Lynn McMullen, of Brighton; one daughter, Samantha Marie Fry, of Creston; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gayle Poortinga, of Iowa Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth St., in Nevada.

A memorial fund has been established.
