Earnie Myers, 81, of Nevada, died Monday, March 19, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Funeral services are pending with Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.

Earnie Lafayette Myers, 81, of Nevada, died Monday, March 19, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at First Christian Church with Pastor Brice Hughes and Rod Simpson officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the William F. Ball American Legion Post No. 48 in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

Earnie Lafayette Myers was born April 16, 1925, in Zearing, to Clarence A. "Bush" and Orphia Marie (Meyers) Myers. He was a 1942 graduate of Nevada High School. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He married Betty Wilkinson Dec. 31, 1946, in Nevada. He was the owner and broker for Myers Real Estate and Insurance Center in Nevada. He was a member of Community of Christ Church in Ames, Kiwanis, National, Iowa and Central Board of Realtors, and 60-year member of the William F. Ball American Legion Post No. 48.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Myers, of Nevada; two sons, Michael (Lisa) Myers, of Las Vegas, and Steven (Michelle) Myers, of Maxwell; two daughters, Susan (Don) Darrington, of Prescott, Ariz., and Barbara (Keith) Burnett, of Nevada; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Wilbur "Mugs" Myers, of Nevada, Gary (Karen) Myers, of Radcliffe, and Jack (Betty) Myers, of Eagleville, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Isabelle Vincent; and one brother, Cecil Myers.

Visitation will be held with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.

A memorial fund has been established.
