THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Sunday, March 18, 2007.

John G. Michaelson, 79, of Story City, died March 13 near his acreage in rural Story City. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City on Monday, March 19. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Story County Sheriff's Department Rescue Unit or Story City Trees Forever.

John G. Michaelson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie, of Story City; two daughters, Jane (Claude) Hovick, of Roland, and Jacki Foley, of Ames; two granddaughters, Wendy (Sean) Williams, of Cedar Rapids, and Katie Blair, of West Des Moines; and three great grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan and Seth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Christopher Hovick; and one brother, Herb Michaelson.

Soderstrum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
