Ralph Lambert, 83, of Ames, died Monday, March 5. Services are pending with Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

Ralph James Lambert, 83, of Ames, died Monday, March 5, at his home of lung cancer. Services will be Friday, March 9, with burial at 10 a.m. in Ames Municipal Cemetery and the memorial service at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Ames, of which he was a member.
Ralph James Lambert was born June 23, 1923, in Couer d' Alene, Idaho, to Albert and Pearl (Preuninger) Lambert. He attended schools in Washington state. He married Kathryn Fish Sept. 25, 1948, in Washington. He worked in logging camps in the northwest, in shipyards, as a mechanic in Ames and for the city of Ames in the Maintenance Street Department and the Solid Waste Plant. He enjoyed traveling, camping and winters in Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn "Kay" Lambert, of Ames; three sons, David (Phyllis), of Cumberland, R.I., Terry (Cheryl), of San Antonio, and Randal, of Ames; five grandchildren, Jeff, Jessica, Katie, Brian and Kristen; three great-grandchildren, Madeline, Abigail and Tabitha; two sisters, Maxine Barrier, of Kansas City, Kan., and Bertina Souza, of Pacifica, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard.
Stevens Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
