Dr. Robert R. Humphrey, 81, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Cedar Place in Story City. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at McLaren's Chapel in West Des Moines with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation with the family is from 1 p.m. until time of service.

Robert R. Humphrey was born April 4, 1925, in Ames. He served in the military during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a dentist in the Des Moines area for 37 years.

He is survived by four children, Mark (Kathleen) Humphrey, of St. Paul, Minn., Susan Humphrey, of Minneapolis, Amy (Craig) Sengbusch, of Ames, and Sam (Julia) Humphrey, of Story City; four grandchildren, Evan and Natalie Sengbusch and Ben and Anna Humphrey; one brother, Don (Carmen) Humphrey; and two sisters, Peg Humphrey and Patty Allyn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane; one son, William; and one brother, William.

McLaren's Chapel in West Des Moines is in charge of arrangements.
