THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, January 30, 2007.

Marion LaVerne Woster, 79, of Ames, died Monday, Jan. 29, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at First United Methodist Church in Ames. Burial will be in Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing.

Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing is in charge of arrangements.

Marion LaVerne Woster, 79, of Ames, died Monday, Jan. 29, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at First United Methodist Church in Ames. Burial will be in Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg.

Marion LaVerne Woster was born July 18, 1927, in McCallsburg, to Clarence and Clara (Caltvedt) Woster. He married Bernetta A. Fincham Aug. 24, 1947, in Nevada. He farmed in rural McCallsburg until he retired in 1987. He was a World War II veteran and for 60 years was a member of the American Legion Post 334. Among the many things he enjoyed were his grandchildren, gardening and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Bernetta; two daughters, Jan (Bob) Robinson, of Colo, and Lori (Tom) Mitton, of West Des Moines; one son, Marty, of Bondurant; two brothers, Virgil (Shirley), of Story City, and Carroll (Connie), of McCallsburg; brother-in-law, Max Larson, of Roland; sister-in-law, Edell Woster, of Indiana; four grandsons, Scott, Brent and Craig Robinson and Christopher Mitton; two granddaughters, Abigail Mitton and Renee Wright; four great-grandchildren, Ethan Robinson, Drew Robinson, Noah and Jillian Gibbons; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lois Larson; and three brothers, Gordon, Frances and Loren.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing.
