Doris Hallquist Hix, 91, formerly of Nevada, died Thursday December 28 at the Eastern Star Home in Boone. A memorial service was held December 30 at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, Iowa.

Doris was born in Red Oak, Iowa on July 4, 1915. She was the daughter of Albert J. and Hazel Priest Hallquist. On January 27, 1934 she was married to Seymour Dale Hix. Her husband, a son Robert, and granddughter, Jennifer, preceded her in death. She is survived be her son, Albert Douglas Hix (Teresa) of Nevada, granddaughter Lesa Peeler (Dave) of Buffalo MN and three great grandchildren. Doris was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. She was a military wife, an avid reader, quilter, and loved to garden. Memorials may be given to Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada or Iowa Public Television.
