Kathleen Peery McGinnis

Kathleen Peery McGinnis, 94 of Nevada died on Saturday, November 18 at the Story County Long Term Care in Nevada. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 7 in the Chapel of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating.

Kathleen was born on November 24, 1911 in Jamesport, Missouri to William and Nell (Raines) Peery. On August 5, 1937, she married Harley V. McGinnis in Chillicothe, Missouri. Kathleen and Harley were the owners of the Ben Franklin Store in downtown Nevada for many years. They were members of the First United Methodist Church.

Kathleen is survived by 7 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harley on May 28, 1998, and a sister Elizabeth Brittain.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with Kathleen's arrangements.
