TRI COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, November 30, 2006.

Sheryl Linda Miller, 63, of Huxley, passed away of natural causes on Sunday, November 26, 2006.

Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, November 30, 2006, at 10:00 A.M. at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames and at 2:00 P.M. at West Friesland Presbyterian Church in Ackley.

Sheryl was born to John L. (Jack) and Gertrude (Harken) Meyer on May 4, 1943 at Allen Hospital in Waterloo. She began her education at a country school north of Buck Grove and continued through Aplington High School.

Sheryl was united in marriage with Gary D. Miller on November 12, 1965 at West Friesland Presbyterian Church of rural Ackley. They made their first home in Ogden, Utah near Hill Air Force Base. Later residences include Cedar Rapids, Ames and Huxley. Sheryl operated a day care and also baked pies for Center Grove Orchard. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was a member of Garden Prairie UCC where she was organist as well as at local funeral chapels. She was the musician at Ames Moose Lodge where she volunteered for many activities. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, taking care of her flowers, singing and playing the organ. Time spent with her family was also special to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents. Sheryl is survived by her husband, Gary; son, Gene (Stacey) Miller of Clear Lake; daughter, Shanon (Jeremy) McKinley of Huxley; grandson, Dylan McKinley; brother, Dennis (Joyce) Meyer of Bristow; sister, Wanda (Carl) Benning of Waverly; and aunt, Martha (Harken) Pruisner of Aplington.

A visitation was held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.
