William George Jacobson
July 19, 1930-Nov. 26, 2006William George Jacobson, 76, of Iowa Falls, died Sunday, Nov. 26, at Israel Hospice House in Ames. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
William George Jacobson was born July 19, 1930, in Windom, Minn., the son of Sophus and Pearl (Harper) Jacobson. He received his education at local schools in Windom. He served his country in the U.S. Navy with the air anti-submarine squadron. He married Juanita Richarson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua; the couple later divorced.
He was a member of Hyman-Peavey American Legion in Iowa Falls, and past member of Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge both of Iowa Falls.
He was a manager and butcher with Fareway in Iowa Falls before he retired in 1984.
He is survived by one daughter, Darla Jacobson, of Ames; two sons, Dirk Jon Jacobson, of Ames, and Ben Julius Caplan, and wife, Lucretia, of Alden; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Phyllis Phelps, and her husband, Eugene, of Vinton; and special friend Linda Van-Heiden, of Iowa Falls.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Beatty Burkhart, Betty Moritz, Doris Berndt and Oral Warner; and one brother, Jack Jacobson.
