She was confirmed at Memorial Lutheran Church in Ames May 25, 1941. She married Walter Wesack of Adair Dec. 8, 1935, and shared a life together for 55 years. They were blessed with two children, Paul and Marlene.

They farmed near McCallsburg until 1957 when they moved to Ames. Her farming background helped her for the next 21 years as she worked for Iowa State University in swine nutrition as a statistician. She assisted graduate students from all over the world keeping records and calculating data from the many research projects conducted on the ISU pig farm. When she retired in 1978, she was remembered by many past students with letters and gifts.

She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church for 52 years. She was active in LWML and was on the design committee for the kitchen in the addition dedicated in 1957.

In 1993, she moved to Lago Vista, Texas, to be near her daughter in Austin and son in San Antonio. She lived at The Island for four years and became a member of Christ Our Savior Church in Lago Vista. She was active in Alter Guild, Tuesday Bible class and Sunday morning adult Bible class.

She always had active hands. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and, in later years, quilting. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit and sweet smile.

She is survived by one daughter, Marlene Royer, and husband Mike Royer, of Lago Vista, Texas; granddaughter, Tai Mei Laxx of Steilacoom, Wash.; granddaughter, Melissa Royer, and grandson Bradley Royer, both of Austin, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Shannon, Kimberly and Shea; great-great grandson, Landon; and three nieces and three nephews. Special mention to all her friends who loved and cared for her to the last day of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in 1990; one son, Paul, in 1997; and one sister, Pauline, in 1980.

Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Lutheran Church, Ames, Iowa, or A-Med Community Hospice, 7800 Shoal Creek Blvd., Suite 242 South, Austin, TX 78757.
