Ames Intelligencer, Sep 20, 1894. Died September 14th at the residence of her son John Lanning in Ames, Mrs Lana Lanning. Lana Wilson was born in North Carolina March 6, 1807. In 1814 she removed with her parents to Indiana, where she was married to Lewis Lanning. In 1843 Mr Lanning, with his family came to Koszta, Iowa. In 1869 her husband died. Of the eleven children, two sons and four daughters survive. Mrs Lanning united with the M.C. Church when twelve years of age making a discipleship of more than a quarter century. The Lanning home was frequently open for divine worship for want of a church building. After appropriate services at the house the remains were accompanied by the children and Rev Everly to her old home (Koszta, IA) and laid beside her husband and children
