Ames newspaper. Agatha Lorene Nelson, 92, 816 Clark Ave., died June 3 1978 at the North Grand Care Center. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Tuesday, June 6, from the Adams Funeral Home. The Rev. Cecil A. Wells of the First United Methodist Church will officiate, with burial in the Ames Municipal Cemetery. Mrs Nelson was born Feb 12, 1886 to Charles and Sarah Haverly. She had been an Ames resident all her life and attended schools here. She married C. Ben Nelson Feb 28, 1905 in Ames. Mrs Nelson was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Laura Chapter 115. Survivors include one son, Charles E. Nelson of 902 Ridgewood Ave.; two grandsons, Paul and Jerry, both of Ames; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs Nelson was preceded in death by her husband, June 1, 1961; one son, one daughter, three brothers, and two sisters. A memorial fund has been established for the organ fund at the First United Methodist Church. Gifts may be left at the church office. Friends may call at Adams Funeral Home tonight (Monday).
