Tom Isebrands, 36, of Jewell, died Sunday, Nov. 5, in an automobile accident near York, Neb. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell with Rev. W. Michael Werner officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Jewell Fire Station.

An education fund for Isebrands and Amanda's children has been established at the Randall Story State Bank in Story City.

Thomas (Tom) Jon Isebrands, 36, of Jewell, died Sunday, Nov. 5, from injuries sustained in an auto accident near York, Neb. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell.

Tom Isebrands was born April 20, 1970, in Ames, the youngest son of Floyd and Shirley (Erickson) Isebrands, of Jewell. He was a 1989 graduate of South Hamilton High School and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).

After graduating college, he returned to Jewell to join the family business. A brief time after returning, he met and married the love of his life, Amanda Renee Holm of Story City, Dec. 30, 2000. Amanda is the oldest daughter of Brian and Debra (Finley) Holm, of Story City. Tom and Amanda made their home on an acreage south of Jewell. In January 2004, the couple was blessed with the births of their twins, daughter Jana Ann and son Tyler Jon.

An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish and was a member of Pheasants Forever, White Tail Deer, Ducks Unlimited and the National Rifle Association. He became active in the community and was a member of the Jewell Fire and Rescue Department. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, proud father and a valued friend to many.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda, one daughter, Jana; one son, Tyler; his parents, Floyd and Shirley; and one brother, Mark, his wife, Gina, and daughters, Katie and Molly. He also will be remembered by Amanda's parents, Brian and Debra Holm, brother, Adam, sister, Kelly, and husband, Scott Schmitz, and their children, Reagan and Brett.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Jewell Fire Station.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Thomas J. Isebrands Memorial Account in care of Randall Story State Bank, 606 Broad St., PO Box 278, Story City, IA, 50248.

Becker Funeral Home in Jewell is in charge of arrangements.
