Raymond Lee Judd, 73, died suddenly Monday, Oct. 16. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at First United Methodist Church. There will be a private family burial.Raymond Lee Judd was born June 14, 1933, in Eagleville, Mo., to Franklin and Lois Judd. He graduated from Ridgeway Missouri High School in 1951. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War and also was stationed in Germany and Japan.
After returning to the United States, he resided in Maryland, northern California and then moved to Iowa in 1980 where he was employed by Archway Cookies in Boone and Iowa State University Residence Halls until he retired in 1998. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ames and also was a member of the Masons.
His numerous hobbies included antiques, collecting and repairing old radios, golf, ISU basketball, traveling, reading, spending time with his family and having coffee at Panera Bread.
He was married to Francis Sargent, and to this union, two daughters and one son were born. In 1990, he married Jeanette Finch of Ames.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; two daughters, Cheryl May, of North East, Md., and Patti Shoap, of North East, Md.; one son, Raymond C. (Cheryl) Judd, of York, S.C.; two stepdaughters, Suzanne Finch, of San Diego, and Mary Ann Finch, of Ames; one sister, Joyce Sargent, of Prairie Du Sac, Wis.; one special aunt, Verda Comer, of Ridgeway, Mo.; his stepfather, Glen Henry, of Luther; two stepbrothers, Bob Henry, of Madrid, and Marvin Henry, of Luther; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, numerous friends; and special companion, Whiskers.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at Adams Funeral Home, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
