Aug. 4, 1913-Sept. 22, 2006
Roselma Hansen, 93, of Story City and formerly of rural Ames, died Friday, Sept. 22, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at First Christian Church in Ames with the Rev. David Digby and Chaplain Sandy Anenson officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Roselma was born Aug. 4, 1913, in Maxwell to William and Rose Allie (Guge) Brodie. She graduated from Milford High School. She married Roy Hansen Feb. 10, 1934, in Nevada.

She was a homemaker and a former 4-H leader. She enjoyed watching cardinals, reading, crafts, needle point, fishing and playing cards with her family. She had lived near Ames since 1934.

She is survived by one son David Hansen, of Ames; seven grandchildren, Jeff (Geni) Greiner, of West Lafayette, Ind., Wade Greiner, of Independence, Clark (Corina) Greiner, of Smithville, Mo., Alan (Becky) Greiner, of Jefferson, Bruce (Jeannette) Greiner, of Ames, Scott (Michale) Hansen, of Ames, and Todd (Staci) Hansen, of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; 19 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, in 1990; one daughter, Judith Greiner in 1977; and nine siblings, Kenneth, William, Robert, Mabel, Mary, Jenny, John, Andrew and Ralph.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Bethany Manor in Story City or First Christian Church in Ames.
