Connie Rene Lande died Tuesday, Sept. 5, at home after a four-year battle with breast cancer. Services were Saturday, Sept. 9, at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Interment was in Chariton Cemetery.

Connie Rene Lande was born Dec. 16, 1959, in Des Moines, the daughter of Gary M. Lande and Twila H. (Jordan) Henderson. She was a graduate of Ballard High School. She married Mike Hunter on June 12, 1982, in Lucas County and to this union a daughter, Branigan, was born.

Connie liked antiques and enjoyed doing yard work. She was an Iowa State fan and would defend her team to anyone. Her biggest support was to her daughter, of whom she was a huge fan - she loved to watch her dance, show cattle and sheep and work with her horses. Connie's greatest love was her family; nothing was more important than to be gathered around with family.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Mike; one daughter, Branigan; her father, Gary (Vicki) Lande, of Lucas; her mother, Twila (Everett) Henderson, of Altoona; three siblings, Deanna (Kirt) Kramme, of Ankeny, Cindy (Bob) Smith, of Chariton, and Troy Lande, of Lucas; her grandpa, Harvey Jordan, of Huxley; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Kevin Lande; and her grandparents, Audrey Jordan and Ardo and Wilma Lande.

Memorials may be left in memory of Connie for Breast Cancer Research and Awareness.

Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton was in charge of arrangements.
