John Irving Jacobson

Mr. John Irving Jacobson, 76, of 820 Main St., McCallsburg, Iowa, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006 at his residence in McCallsburg. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 5th at Bethany Lutheran Church, McCallsburg. Burial was in the Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg.

Mr. Jacobson was born in Hardin County, Iowa, to Oscar and Inga (Sampson) Jacobson. He graduated from McCallsburg High School in 1947. He worked as a farmer and a school bus driver for the Colo N.E.S.C.O. and McCallsburg School District. He retired in 2005. He also was a member of the Air Force. He married Lucille Wismer on April 15, 1955, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Jerry Jacobson of Visalia, California and Kevin (Kimberly) Jacobson of Story City, Ia.; a daughter, Brenda (Arthur) Easley of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren: Alissa, Tyler, Shane, Travis and Aaron; and a sister, Ione (Luther) Holland of McCallsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
