Paul Satre, 61, of Webster City, died Wednesday, Aug. 16. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church at Stanhope, with the Rev. Joe Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Lake Center Cemetery southeast of Stanhope. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 191 of Webster City.

Paul Hilford Satre was born June 26, 1945, in Boone, the son of Hilford and Geneva Wheeler Satre. He received his education at South Hamilton at Jewell, graduating in 1963. He started his employment at Electrolux in 1964. He married Betty Wolff Jan. 19, 1968, in Eagle Grove. He also helped his father in the farming operation. In 1998, he retired from Electrolux because of failing health.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; his mother, Geneva Satre, of Webster City; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Lucille James, of Webster City; Sally and Bruce Nelson, of Eagle Grove; one aunt, Irene Johnson, of Story City; and four cousins, Janet and Don Johnson, of Ames, LeRoy Johnson, of Story City, and Daryl Thorson of Boone.

He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; one aunt and two cousins.

He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and was a former Iowa National Guard member. He liked bowling, fishing and hunting. He loved his dog, Max, and received much pleasure sharing times with his wife, family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center in Webster City and after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
