Estella Floden

Estella Floden, 96, of Madrid, formerly of Ames died Monday, August 14, 2006 at the Madrid Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August, 17 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Ames with Rev. Chris Olkiewicz officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 16 at Adams Funeral Home.

Estella L. Floden was born June 25, 1910, near Huxley, to Edward & Belle (Stenson) Tweedt, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She was united in marriage to Sanford Floden on November 27, 1930. They lived in Slater from 1936 until moving to Ames in 1958. In 1997 she moved to the Madrid Home.

Estella was a homemaker, and a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.

She is survived by a daughter, Verda Alleman of Slater, a daughter-in-law Rosalie Floden of Ames; four brothers, Sherman Tweedt of Carthage, IL, Everett (Mary) Tweedt, and DeWayne Tweedt of Madrid, M. L. (Ruth) Tweedt of Council Bluffs, and a sister, Esther (Bill) Latta; a sister-in law Mildred Tweedt of Slater; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sanford, a son Dean, two infant sons Robert Dean and Alan Charles, and a sister LeVona Nelson.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church, the Madrid Home, or the Alzheimer's Assn.
