Genevieve "Jennie" Delores Redling, 82, of Story City, died Monday, June 12, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell.

Jennie Redling was born Sept. 1, 1923, near Story City to Harry K. and Malinda Ingebor (Holland) Henderson. She married Peter J. Redling May 24, 1942. She was a homemaker and a farm wife. She had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since moving to Story City in 1989. She was active in RSVP, the Jewell Flower Club and the Bethesda Lutheran and Immanuel Lutheran Church Women. She loved quilting and embroidery.

She is survived by two sons, Francis (Marleen) Redling of Lincoln, Neb., and Jerry Redling of San Diego; one daughter, Gloria (Jim) Oberender of Story City; one son-in-law, Kenneth Daigh of Boone; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Shirley Ann Redling; one brother, Melbourne Henderson; and one daughter, Patricia Daigh.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Bethany Manor Chapel with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
