The Roland Record, Roland, Story County, Iowa, October 24, 1895.
Mrs. Ole Langland died at her home south of town, Monday morning, of lung fever, after an illness of less than a week. She was buried in our cemetery Tuesday afternoon after services held at the west church, by Rev. Smedal, at 11 o'clock. The church was crowded by a large circle of firends eager to do homage to the departed. Miss Holm was born in Norway 57 years ago, came to this country when she was 13 years of age and settled with her parents in Illinois. She was married to Ole Langland in 1868 and afterwards moved to Story county. Eleven children were born to them, seven of whom survive the mother, and were present at her death. Mrs. Langland was a very ardent church worker and a devoted christian. She was a woman who commanded love and respect from all who knew her and leaving this life will leave an opening in the lives of many, which cannot be filled.
The most heartfelt sympathy is extended to those who mourn her death, by all the neighbors and friends.
