THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, April 7, 2006.

Jacqueline Joy Hopkins, 76, of Ames, died Thursday, April 6, at Israel Family Hospice House. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 10, at Gilbert Lutheran Church with the Rev. Thomas Prochnow officiating.

Jacqueline Hopkins was born April 22, 1929, in Cedar Rapids to Robert and Matilda (Kerner) Kennedy. She married Charles "Chill" Hopkins March 19, 1949, in Cedar Rapids. She will be remembered for her love of family, kindness, humor and her dedication to providing beautiful homemade quilts for those in need. She has touched hundreds of lives with her quilts.

She is survived by her husband, Chill Hopkins of Ames; one son, Steve (Barb) of Billings, Mont.; one daughter, Judy (Scott) Huebsch of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Robert (Gwen) Kennedy of Kearney, Neb.; five grandchildren, Matt (Jill) Huebsch of Chicago, Steve Huebsch of Aspen, Colo., Allyson Huebsch of Iowa City, Meghan Hopkins of Billings, Mont., and Parker Hopkins of Billings, Mont.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials should be sent to Israel Family Hospice House in Ames or Gilbert Lutheran Church.
