Harold W. Wengert, 65, joined his Lord on March 27 after a brief illness. He was born at State Center, on May 4, 1940, the son of Leon and Eleanor Wengert.

He graduated from Colo High School in 1958, the University of Northern Iowa, with a master's degree in education, and received his Ph.D. in education from the University of Colorado at Greeley, Colo.

He had lived in Arizona for many years. At the time of his death, he was teaching at James Madison Prep School near Phoenix, Ariz. He is survived by his wife Kay; five children, Chris Roof, Deb Jones, David, Jared and Joel Wengert, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a sister Muriel Armbrecht of Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Jean, a brother Gerald and a niece Joyce Norrington.

A memorial service will be today at the First Baptist Church in Tempe, Ariz. His cremains will be returned to his family farm in Colo.
