THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, March 28, 2006.

Vickie Lynn Olson, 53, of Colo, died Sunday, March 26, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. Cremation will follow the visitation.

Vickie was born July 11, 1952, in Marshalltown to Glenn E. and Jewel L. (Baldoff) Olson. She was a 1970 graduate of Colo High School. She also graduated from Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Mo. She was a special education teacher at Willson-Beardshear School and the Eldora Detention Center. She enjoyed motorcycle riding.

She is survived by her significant other, John Ross of Colo; one brother, Mike Olson of Colo; one sister, Marlene Berger of St. Louis; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant daughters.

Memorials may be made in Vickie's name to Colo Public Library or the Colo Fire Department.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
