THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, March 28, 2006.

Linda M. May, 37, of Nevada, died Friday, March 24, at her home. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Chet Ryan Mortuary with Pastor David R. Burling officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Linda was born Nov. 16, 1968, in Waukegan, Ill., to Paul and Marilyn (Stearns) Heath. She was a graduate of DMACC and attended Iowa State University. She married Christopher L. Smith Aug. 18, 1995, in Nevada. She was employed as a laboratory technician at Story County Medical Center in Nevada. She moved to Nevada six years ago, but also had resided in Ames and Marshalltown. She was an avid reader, loved camping and the outdoors. She also enjoyed walking her dog, Hunter.

She is survived by her husband, Christopher Smith; two daughters, Victoria May and Samantha May, all of Nevada; one brother, Daniel Heath of Zion, Ill.; and one sister, Donna Eddy of Kelley.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 29, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at the mortuary.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
