HEGGEN, PEARL (1884-1913)

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 27, 1913, page 1, column 4. “OBITUARY – Pearl Heggen was born in Norway, February 2, 1884, and died at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, March 20, 1913, age twenty-nine years, one month and eighteen days. She came to this country a little more than ten years ago and has made her home in and around Maxwell ever since. In a meeting held by G. A. Jones under the pastorate of Rev. Giddens, she was led to renounce her sins and surrender her heart to Christ and at once united with the Methodist church at this place and has continued in its fellowship until translated to the church triumphant. She leaves an aged mother and sister in Norway; two brothers in Roland, Iowa and three brothers in North Dakota to mourn her untimely death. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at Maxwell, Saturday morning, March 22nd, at 10:00 o’clock conducted by Rev. H. G. Hicks of Yale, assisted by Rev. M. E. Goodrich and the body laid to rest in the Maxwell cemetery.”
