THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 11, 1912, page 1, column 6. “JAMES FLICKINGER DEAD. Word was received here Thursday night of the death of James Flickinger at his home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, his las illness having been of less than a weeks duration. Samuel Flickinger and Will Mills left Friday morning for Siloam Springs to attend the funeral. Mr. Flickinger formerly lived here and has many friends in this vicinity who will ge grieved to learn of his death.”

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 11, 1912, page 2, column 1. “ROUTE 2: Wm. Mills left last Friday for Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where he was called by the death of his brother-in-law, James Flickinger.”

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 18, 1912, page 1, column 4. “JAMES CALVIN FLICKINGER. – The following obituary notice is taken from the SILOAM SPRINGS (Arkansas) REGISTER: James Calvin Flickinger was born January 7 1853 in Cumberland county, Pennsylvania; his father moved to Iowa in April of the same year, settling in Henry county, and from there to Illinois in 1859, and back to Iowa in 1865, where his son James grew to manhood, residing in Story county until 1899, when he moved to Colorado and from there to Siloam Springs in 1903, where he died January 4, 1912 at the age of fifty-eight years, eleven months and twenty-eight days. He was a man ot temperate habits, quiet and unobstructive and attending strictly to his own affairs. As to his religious belief but little is known, but he recongnized a Supreme Being and had faith and hope of something beyond. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon at the home in charge of Rev. Greene. The remains were buried at Oak Hill.”
