THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, February 8, 2006.

Edith Keltner, 95, of Ames, died Monday, Feb. 6, at Bickford Cottage in Ames. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Lewis, First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Story Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Edith was born June 20, 1910, in Danbury, Iowa, to Burr and Ethel (McCarty) Towers. She was a graduate of Danbury High School. She worked at Mattox Transfer and Storage for 28 years. She married Byron S. Keltner April 5, 1942, in Des Moines. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She loved basketball.

She is survived by one granddaughter, Fran Sobotka of Overland Park, Kan.; one grandson, Joseph Stephans of O'Fallon, Ill.; and six great-grandchildren, Erin and Jon Sobotka, Vincent, Abigail, Gregory and Matthew Stephans.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Vincent Stephans; one sister; one brother; and one granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, and from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at Adams Funeral Home.

Memorials are requested to be sent to First United Methodist Church.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is in charge of arrangements.
