THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, January 14, 2006.

Irma Dircks, 81, Clarence, died Jan. 13 at Prairie Hill Assisted Living in Tipton. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at the St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence with the Reverend David Mears officiating. She will be buried in St. John's Church Cemetery.

Irma was born Dec. 14, 1924, in Clarence to Richard and Eleanor (Boettcher) Hulse. She married Darrel Dircks Aug. 22, 1943, in Clarence. He preceded her in death June 14, 1994.

Irma was member of St. John's United Church of Christ, women's fellowship and adult choir. She had been a 4-H leader for many years. She also belonged to Farm Bureau, Music Aid, and the Federated Women's Club. Irma and her late husband Darrel operated Homeway Homes dealership for many years. She is survived by two sons, Richard (Pam) of Mario and Robert (Diane) of Clarence; a daughter, Rosalyn (Bob) Brandt of Ames; a brother, Merlin (Darlene) Hulse of Clarence; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15 at Chapman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
