Edward Junior Anderson, 67 of Nevada died on Saturday, December 31 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at the Memorial Lutheran Church with Pastor Myron Herzberg officiating. Burial, with military rites, followed in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Ed was born on October 22, 1938 in Nevada to Edward S. and Inger H. (Thorsbakken) Anderson. He was a 1957 graduate of Nevada High School. Ed served in the U.S. Army. On August 15, 1965, he married Karen Hapes in Nevada. Ed was a master printer for Graphic Forms before he retired. He was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church. Ed enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing and regular hunting.

Ed is survived by his wife, Karen Anderson of Nevada; 2 sons, Scott (Sara) Anderson of Davenport and Mark (Carrie) Anderson of Waukee; a brother, Richard Anderson of Sheldahl; a sister, Marilyn Hill of Radcliffe; and 2 grandchildren, Logan and Morgan.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

The family received friends on January 3 at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion.
