THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, December 31, 2005.

Ivadelle Mendon, 99, formerly of Ames, died at 2:30 a.m. Dec. 29 at Hospice House.

She was born July 1, 1906, in Ames to Lorenzo Guy and Cora Garmier Dixson.

She married Arthur Edward Mendon March 17, 1928, in Mason City.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Chapter HO of P.E.O. and Emanon Club all in Ames.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane Bauerle (Richard) of Ottumwa and Sue Powley (William) of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Craig (Karen) Bauerle, Michael (Kay) Bauerle, John Bauerle, Linda Bauerle, Brian (Sharla) Powley, Rebecca (Mike) Hoeck and Jill (Charles) Kiefer; and seven great grandchildren Allison Bauerle, Anna Bauerle, Megan Bauerle, Cossette Powley, Alexander Powley, Ryan Hoeck and Marissa Hoeck.

She was preceded by her parents; husband; one sister, Eva Coon; and brother, Donald Dixson.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home with Rev. Lon Lewis officiating.

Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Ames Municipal Cemetery, Ames.

Pallbearers are grandsons Craig Bauerle, Michael Bauerle, John Bauerle, Brian Powley, Michael Hoeck and Charles Kiefer.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Ames or Hospice House in Ottumwa.

Robertson-Jay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
