Myron Leslie Jorstad was born on January 7, 1902, at McCallsburg, Iowa, the son of Fred and Dora [Olson] Jorstad. He attended school at McCallsburg, St. Olaf College at Northfield, and the University of Iowa at Iowa City.

Myron was united in marriage to Harriett Herron on January 26, 1944 at her home in Union, Iowa. The couple moved to Eagle Grove in 1953 where he was employed at Schrage Implement. Later he was employed at Christensen Motors as a bookkeeper and finally he served as custodian at the Eagle Grove Public Library until his retirement in 1979.

He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove.

Myron is survived by his wife-Harriett, 1 brother-Otis Jorstad; 4 sisters-Edna Billings of Long Beach, California, Lillian Jorstad of Phoenix, Arizona, Erma Lantz of Corona, California, and Elizabeth Blair of Alta Loma, California.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother-Jesse and an infant brother.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on January 23, 1988 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. The Reverend Paul Schaedig officiated the morning services. Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
