THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, December 9, 2005.

Marlene L. Cole, 67, of Collins, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, in Ames. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 10 at Collins United Methodist Church in Collins with the Rev. Barbara K. Mittman officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Collins. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Collins United Methodist Church.

Marlene was born Dec. 26, 1937, in Jasper County to parents Marion and Nadine (Jones) Mullihan. She had lived in Collins since 1968. She worked in payroll and personnel for IBM for 27 years in Des Moines. She married Donald Cole, Jan. 11, 1974 in Omaha, Neb. She was a member of the Collins City Council.

She is survived by one son, Mike (Missy) McDermott of Mingo; two daughters, Dian (Keith) Stratton of Collins and Dawnell (Darren) Kennedy of Collins; six grandchildren, Hannah, Megan, Mackenzi, Jacob, Georgia, Nash; two brothers, Theodore (Charlene) Mullihan of Collins, Chad Mullihan of Collins; and one sister, Phyllis (Don) Stanfel of Ankeny.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Max.

Fredregill Funeral Home in Collins is in charge of the arrangements.
