THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, December 9, 2005.

Karen Jolene Roush of Yuma, Ariz., and formerly of Ames, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.

According to her wishes, no visitation or services are planned. Her remains have been cremated for burial at a later date.

Karen was born Sept. 10, 1939, in Boone to Ed and Louise Shell.

She is survived by her husband, John Roush of Yuma, Ariz.; three children, son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Mary Cowan of Boone, son and daughter-in-law Todd and Anita Cowan of Columbia, Mo., and daughter Dana Bachman of Fort Collins, Colo; five grandchildren, Emily, Michael, Derrick, Taylor, and Alex; eight brothers and sisters, Verdine Bergling, Iola Leland, Mary Lou Sullivan, Jane Bass, Fran Grabbert, Mahlon Shell, Leland Shell, Joy Patten; and several nieces and nephews.
