Deb was born March 11, 1960, in Storm Lake. Growing up, she lived in Algona and graduated high school in 1977. After graduation, she attended Iowa Lakes Community College and graduated in 1980.
Through her marriage to Steve Galvin, her son was born in 1983. Deb and her son Nickolas moved to Ames in 1988. In 1996, she started her own business, NHO Connection health and nutrition store.
Her real passion came to her in 2001, when she fell in love with fleece. She first purchased fleecebymail.com as an Internet business and soon found out there was a need for retail in the Ames area. Deb made many fleece blankets and also invented many crafts with the fleece. In 2003, Fleecepieces was patented, and many people loved her way of making fleece blankets.
