JOHN PETER LARSON
John Peter Larson was born in Denmark Sept. 4, 1873, the son of Jens and Marie Larsen. In early childhood he came to this country with his parents. They settled in Story county, where he practiced blacksmithing for a number of years.
On October 23, 1901, he was united in marriage with Ida Anderson of Story county. The young couple established their home in Story City, where they lived until 1911 when they moved to a farm in Faribault county, Minn. In 1918 Mrs. Larson passed away.
Mr. Larson had been in ill health several years and underwent several operations. He died on Thursday evening, Dec. 25th, shortly after participating in a family Christmas supper, attaining the age of 68 years, 3 months and 21 days.
Funeral services were held Monday forenoon, Dec. 29, at the Coning's Chapel in Blue Earth, Minn. The afternoon services were held in the Grace Evangelical church at Story City, Rev. A. E. Thompson of Blue Earth officiating. Interment was made in the Fairview cemetery in Story City.
Mr. Larson leaves to mourn his sudden departure, three daughters: Mrs. Jos. Dobson of Granada, Minn., Gladys and Mrs. Ora Anderson of Blue Earth; and three grandchildren Rodney John Anderson, Frederic Ora Anderson, Wendell Jo Dobson; four brothers: Henry of Chicago, Will of Fairmont, Minn., Godfrey and Fred of Winnebago, Minn.; three sisters: Mrs. Mary Johnson of Cambridge, Carrie of Marshalltown, and Jane of Story City.
Casket bearers were William Peterson, P. A. Olson, Nels P. Larson, C. F. Johnson, Hans S. Nelson and Martin Jensen. At the services Mrs. Everett Anderson sang two selections accompanied by Vernon Anderson on the organ.
