Marjorie Ann Pepples, 81, of Ames died Nov. 8 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
Marjorie was born July 15, 1924, in Creston to parents Esther (Anderson) and William Robert Patrick. She graduated from Boone High School in 1944 and married Orville Eugene Pepples in 1944. She worked as a nurse's aide at the Boone County Hospital, Bournes Inc., and she retired from Iowa State University Food Service.
She was a member of the order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville (Gene) Pepples on Nov. 8, 2002, and three son-in-laws, David J. Spurgeon, John D. Bennett and John W. Lockamy.
She is survived by five daughters and one son, Margene Lockamy of Council, N.C., Margaret Pepples of Boone, Linda Spurgeon of Boone, Judy Williams and husband Collin of Boone, Cheryl Bearden of Stratford, and Robert Pepples of Ames; one sister, Beverly Zea and husband Dale of Carpenterville, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. The body will be cremated, and the services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the Central Christian Church in Boone.
