Robert Jack of Colo Dies Early Today at Hospital

Colo, Oct. 7--Robert Jack, 61, longtime resident of the Colo neighborhood, died at the Deaconess hospital, Marshalltown, this morning at 9:30, from the effects of a cancer from which he had been suffering for over a year.

Taken ill over a year ago, he went to Rochester, Minn., where he was under the Mayo specialists for an operation. Returning it appeared that the operation had been successful but a few weeks ago, trouble again developed and he went to the Deaconess hospital two weeks ago and there death occurred early today.

A son of John and Mary Jack, earlier day residents of this community, he was born sixty-one years ago last February 19.

The parents are both dead, the mother passing away thirteen years ago today. He leaves a sister, Mrs. Nels Perry of Colo and a half sister, Mrs. Cora Myers of Idaho, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He started working for the Colo Farmers Grain Company at the time of its organization in 1906 and had been with the concern continuously ever since, the last 28 years of which he had been manager.

Funeral rites will be held Friday afternoon, but the particulars as to hour and place were yet undetermined.
