Interment was in the Collins cemetery by the side of her husband. The pallbearers were C. G. Vasey, W. A. Kitchell, Dennis Halterman, Carl Day, M. C. Westcott and H. W. Johnson.
Mrs. Dodd was a daughter of Charles and Orcelia Evans and was born at Walnut, Ill., Dec. 13, 1874, and passed away at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown, March 29, 1941, at the age of 65 years, 3 months and 16 days.
She spent most of her life in the community. She was married to Milo Dodd of Collins, July 19, 1894 and to this union five children were born, Clem of Des Moines, Mrs. Lelah Ebaugh of Clear Lake, Mrs. Ila Scharringhausen and Mrs. Vilda McIlvane of Omaha, Neb., and Charles, of near Collins, all of whom survive her. She also leaves 15 grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Jennie Stephens and a brother, Leonard Evans, both of Collins.
Her husband passed away in 1934.
Mrs. Evans had been ill for several months and had been a patient in the hospital five weeks. Her death has saddened this community, for she was widely known and highly respected by all who knew her.
