Last Rites Held for Mrs. Clemens in Des Moines

Funeral services for Mrs. Don Clements were held on Sunday, June 21 at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Des Moines. Pastor Clair Boreman of the Four Square Gospel Church in Des Moines was in charge.

Pallbearers were Irvin Houge, Glen Houge, Thomas Houge, Dean Thomas, Jerry Denny and Howard Hadley.

Burial was in the Slater Municipal Cemetery.

Obituary

Anna Elizabeth Houge Clements, daughter of Peter O. and Celia Houge, was born at McCook, Neb. on Feb. 5, 1887 and passed away on June 18, 1959 at the age of 72 years.

She moved with her parents to Story County at an early age where she grew to womanhood and was confirmed in the Lincoln Lutheran Church at Slater.

She was united in marriage to Don P. Clements on Aug. 11, 1909.

To this union three children were born--Mrs. Wilma Denny, Mrs. Donafae Thomas and Earl L. Clements, all of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William and Thomas, and a sister, Ruby Spring.

Besides her husband and children she is survived by five grandchildren--Mrs. Betty Ann Hadley, Carol Denny, Jerry Deny, Dean Thomas and Mark Thomas; one great-grandchild, Gayla Lynn Hadley; two sisters and two brothers, Hattie Van Gundy of Slater, Katherine Zenor, William O. Houge and Milford J. Houge, all of Des Moines, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Clements would have observed their golden wedding anniversary on Aug. 11 this year.
