Funeral Services for Mrs. Heinrich

Collins, Mar. 1--Funeral services for the late Mrs. Nancy L. Heinrich of Collins, who passed away early Monday, Feb. 26, 1940 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Blanch Harrington at Des Moines were held from the local Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 27 at 2:00 p.m., with her pastor the Rev. Chas. Fix in charge, assisted by the Rev. Judson Perkins of Maxwell. A quartet composed of Mrs. Curtis Marsh, Mrs. C. R. Stone, J. R. Witmer and Clark John with Mrs. Hugh Fertig at the piano, sang "In the Garden," "No Night There" and "Under His Wings." The beautiful and numerous floral offerings were arranged at the church and grave by Mrs. Ora Hanson and Mrs. J. E. Hale. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery by the side of the husband who passed away many years ago. The pallbearers were C. R. Stone, C. E. Fish, J. R. Armstrong, A. W. Kracht, Dewey Kern and L. D. Holland. The following brief life history of the deceased were read at the services.

Nancy L. Mosier was born in Mosiertown, Penn., Jan. 11, 1858, the second daughter of David and Elizabeth Mosier. She came with her parents at the age of nine to Blairstown, Ia., where she grew to womanhood. In the year 1880 she was married to Oscar F. Heinrich. To this union was born three children, Alfred Heinrich and Blanche Harrington of Des Moines and Arlo Heinrich of Maxwell.

They came to Story county in the year 1895, living for a number of years on their farm later moving to Collins where Mr. Heinrich died on Feb. 27, 1920.

In October she went to Des Moines to spend the winter with her daughter and it was there she passed away Feb. 26 at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 15 days.

Mrs. Heinrich was a member of the Collins Methodist church and was always interested in the work and welfare of the church.

Mrs. Heinrich had spent many years of her life in and near Collins and endeared herself to the people of this community. She was deeply devoted to her home and family, yet found time for many acts of kindness that endeared her to her neighbors and friends. She is survived by her children, several grandchildren and a host of friends.
