OBITUARY
MRS. OLE IVERSON
Mrs. Ole Iverson of Spencer died Sunday morning, August 31, at the Spencer Municipal hospital, where she had been a patient for a short time following a paralytic stroke and a heart ailment. She had been a Spencer resident for the past two years and of Clay county for 28 yeas, 26 of which having been spent on a farm.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 3. A short service was held at 2 o'clock at Cobb's Funeral chapel, with further services at the English Lutheran church. Rev. Ratland, pastor of the Norwegian Lutheran church in Sioux Rapids, was the officiating clergyman, and interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
Laura Olson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Olson was born April 11, 1876, and at the time of her death was 65 years and 4 months of age. She was born at Grinnell, but the family home was near Story City for many years. She obtained her education in the schools of Story county.
On March 24, 1897, she was married to Ole Iverson, their marriage taking place in Toledo. Ten years after their marriage they moved to the Sioux Rapids community where they lived for six years. They then moved to Clay county and lived on a farm until moving into Spencer a couple years ago.
Besides her husband Mrs. Iverson is survived by three daughters and one son. The daughters are Mrs. Forrest Webb of New Castle, Wyo., Mrs. Earl Bright of Montevideo, Minn., Mrs. Matt Brown of Ayrshire. The son is Lloyd Iverson of Spencer. There are also 11 grandchildren and several brothers and sisters. The sisters are Mrs. Dena Soren of Pasadena, Cal., Mrs. Lena Murphy of Malcolm, Mrs. Josie Olson of Sioux Rapids, Mrs. Lizzie Jacobson of Story City. The brothers are Dan and Henry Olson of Story City and Tom Olson of Northwood.
